Lawrence F. Benson Jr., age 80, passed away on December 7, 2025. He was born on October 13, 1945, to the late Lawrence F. Benson Sr. and Ila Edwards Benson. A proud Georgia native, Lawrence graduated from Bass High School and later from the University of West Georgia.
Lawrence built a long and successful career in sales, known for his integrity, dedication, and warmth. He proudly served his country in the United States Army, including deployment during the Vietnam War. A man of deep faith, he followed the teachings of Jesus and was a longtime member and Deacon of Johnson Ferry Baptist Church.
He enjoyed spending time in nature, tackling home projects, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs. Above all, Lawrence cherished his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Laura; two sons, Lance and Reid; daughters-in-law, Tracy and Amy; and four beloved grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, December 29th at 3:00 p.m. at H.M. Patterson & Son–Canton Hill Chapel with Rev. Ron Hughes officiating.
