Lois M. Kiser, aged 87, was called to her eternal home on April 7, 2024, in Marietta, Georgia, after living a life marked by faith, integrity and love. Born on July 14, 1936, in Russell County, Virginia, Lois's journey was one of unwavering faith in God, which guided her through all her life.
Having spent the last four years in Marietta, Georgia, Lois previously lived in Abingdon, Virginia, following her cherished years in Dante, Virginia. As the owner and operator of Castlewood Insurance for over two decades, Lois loved serving her community, meeting and talking with anyone who came into her agency.
Lois's faith in God was the cornerstone of her existence. Her faith was the rock of her life, whether she was immersed in a book, enjoying time with her friends, shopping, or most importantly, cherishing moments with her beloved daughters and grandchildren. Her love of her life was her late husband, Dan Kiser, who preceded her in death in 2002.
Lois is survived by a family who loves and misses her deeply: daughters Danita Kiser and Marla Buie, both of Georgia and their husbands -Scott and Joe; five grandchildren Shelby Josey and husband, Ryan, Carter Holland, Cambria Brown, Carson Brown and Ella Holland; and great-grandson, Ashton Josey.
Lois's life was a testament to the power of faith, the depth of love, and the importance of family. Her legacy is a guiding light, inspiring all who knew her to live with purpose, compassion, and an unshakeable belief in God. She will be profoundly missed but forever cherished in the hearts of those she touched.
Celebration of Lois's Life and Faith will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024, at Castlewood Funeral Home Chapel, Castlewood, Virginia, with Rev. Darrell Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia, where she will be laid to rest beside her beloved Dan. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 12, 2024, at Castlewood Funeral Home, Castlewood, Virginia, where loved ones will gather to honor her life.
