

Marilyn graduated from Somerville High School in Somerville, Massachusetts. She and her first husband, Bob DeVaux relocated to Connecticut to raise their two sons. After his loss, Marilyn completed training to become a Licensed Practical Nurse and raised her two sons in Stamford, Connecticut. She was employed by the Stamford Hospital as an emergency room nurse for over twenty years before retiring.
Marilyn married Charlie Hoyt in 1969 and together they enjoyed many years of travel and time with family. After they retired, they moved to Englewood, Florida and later moved to Marietta, Ga to be closer to family.
Marilyn enjoyed reading, sharing stories about her family, and playing board games, but most of all she loved being with her family.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Hoyt and her first husband Robert DeVaux Jr; sisters, Anne Zavisho, Elaine Johnsyn, Gloria Walsh, and Juile McCarthy; brother, Charles McKenney.
She is survived by sons, Bob (Robin) DeVaux Marietta, Ga and John (Muriel) DeVaux of Madison, FL ; grandson, Rob (Donna) DeVaux of Kennesaw, GA; great granddaughters, Emma DeVaux and Ava DeVaux and extended family members and friends to cherish her memory.
A Graveside Service will be held at 12:30pm on May 2nd, 2024 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.
