Marilyn Porter Rutledge, age 84, of Grapevine, Texas, (formerly of Marietta, Georgia) passed away Sunday, March 10, 2019. She was born in 1934 to Robert Edward Porter and Letitia Miranda Vickers. After getting her nursing degree, she was an OB/GYN nurse at Riverside Hospital in Florida. In her spare time, she enjoyed sewing and reading nutritional books. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Malcolm B. Rutledge. She is survived by her son, Bill Rutledge and daughter-in-law, Rochelle Duke-Rutledge and grandsons, Walker Duke and J.D. Duke, all of Grapevine, Texas; brother, Robert (Beverly) Porter, of St. Augustine, Florida; sister, Jean Porter, of Palatka, Florida; brothers-in-law, Wilbur (Catherine) Bruce, of Enterprise, Florida, and Ed (Maryann) Bruce, of Sanford, Florida; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members.
The family will receive guests for visitation at H.M. Patterson & Son – Canton Hill Chapel on Saturday, March 16, 2019 between 4:00pm and 5:00pm. A funeral service will be held at 5:00pm in the Chapel following the visitation.
