Mary Ann McMillin, 97, of Marietta, GA, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her devoted family. Born on June 18, 1927, in Cincinnati, OH, to Mary and Walter Buchert. Mary Ann was a cherished daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother ("GG"), aunt and friend.
Her life was dedicated to her loved ones, and she was known for her kind heart, gentle voice, and comforting presence. Mary Ann had a unique ability to see the good in everyone and everything, and she carried herself with grace, always bringing joy to those around her. In her quiet moments, she enjoyed watching Fox News, college football and golf.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Jim McMillin, Sr. She is survived by her three children: Anne (Bill) McDonald, Jim (Claudia) McMillin, and Tom (Brigette) McMillin; her seven grandchildren: Kelly (John) Dean, Megan McDonald, Kevin McDonald, Eileen (Casey) McMillin, Molly (JB) Sumner, Caitlin McMillin, and Grace McMillin; and her three great-grandchildren: Caroline, Kate and Charlotte Dean.
The family extends their deepest gratitude to Maureen Sanders and Ruth Brooks for their years of loving care and cherished friendship with our mom. We also wish to thank the nurses and care partners at St. George Village for their gentle and compassionate care of Mary Ann, as well as the gracious fellow residents of St. George Village who brought warmth and kindness to her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on August 27, 2024, at the Catholic Church of St. Ann in Marietta, GA. A private family burial will follow at Georgia National Cemetery.
