

Michael earned his Bachelor of Arts degree at Georgia State University and later in life, retired from the Federal Department of Labor.
Throughout his life, family was very important to Michael. He enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting activities and was always involved. On February 24, 1962 he married the love of his life, Claire Sudderth and they spent over sixty-one years together before his passing. In his spare time he would often read novels as well. Michael was loved by all and will be deeply missed.
Along with his parents, Michael is preceded in death by his brothers, Peter Watt and Charles M. Watt Jr.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Claire Watt; daughters, Allison (Frank) O’Connor and Catherine Watt; grandchildren, Megan Smith, Kayley Smith, Sarah O’Connor, and Ryan O’Connor and extended family and friends to cherish his legacy.
A memorial service to honor Mr. Michael Watt will be held Peachtree Road United Methodist Church in the Moore Chapel, 3180 Peachtree Rd NE, Atlanta, GA at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 30, 2023.
