

Mrs. Minnie M. Gooch, age 84, of Smyrna, passed away after a brief illness on February 16, 2012, surrounded by her family. Mrs. Gooch was a cook at Belmont Hills Elementary School for 30 years and First Baptist Church of Atlanta for 10 years. She was also a member of Spring Street Baptist Church for over 50 years. She is preceded in death by her great-grandson, Caleb Hobby.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William E. Gooch, of Smyrna; son, Larry E. Gooch, of Smyrna; daughter, Glenda Gooch Buglioli, of Indian Shores, FL; four grandchildren, Shannon Hobby, of Powder Springs, GA, Adam (wife, Mary) Wright, of Lutz, FL, Kevin Wright, of Denver, CO, Lauren Buglioli, of New York, NY; 12 great-grandchildren, Chase, Trae, Hayden, Cameron, Simone, Braxton, and Carson Hobby, all of Powder Springs, Ivan Wright, of Lutz, FL, Aaron, Dylan, Tanner, and Leila Wright, all of Denver, CO; sisters, Elizabeth Reed, of Alpharetta, Lewie Green, of Acworth; many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 18, 11:00 AM in Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Bob Wardlaw and Rev. Tom Lee officiating. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday morning, 10 – 11 AM at the funeral home prior to the service.
