Kelly was born on August 14, 1963, in Marietta, Georgia, to Joseph Storey and Linda Moran. She was raised in a Christian home and carried strong faith and values throughout her life. Her father was a Pentecostal minister in the Church of God, and Kelly’s faith remained a guiding force—rooted in love, compassion, and service to others. Kelly grew up in Mt. Vernon, Indiana, and attended Mt. Vernon High School.
Kelly dedicated her life to caring for people. She spent many years as a nanny, lovingly caring for children, and later worked as a caregiver for the elderly. Her heart for others extended far beyond her work—she opened her home, her time, and her heart to family, friends, and anyone in need. She had an extraordinary ability to listen, comfort, and make others feel deeply loved.
Above all else, Kelly was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy. Throughout her illness, Kelly remained positive and determined, enduring all of her treatments with grace. She fought bravely for every moment she could spend with those she loved.
Patricia “Kelly” Storey was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Willard Storey (2007); her grandmother, Mildred Irene Cantrell (1997); and her beloved son, Seth Cole Kesterson (1991).
She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Jeffrey Kesterson; her children: Amber Miller; David Thead (Lauren); Kassidy Kesterson Gufford (Johnny); and Joseph Kesterson; her sister, Janice Fant; her mother, Linda Moran; and her stepfather, R.J. Moran. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren: Matthew Stock (Hannah), Inocente Reyes (Lyna), Amber Reyes, Julian Booker, Sophia Thompson, Averie Gufford, and Maddux Thead, along with several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who loved her dearly.
Kelly’s legacy is one of unconditional love, strength, faith, and selflessness. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by the many lives she touched.
Kelly’s wish was to be cremated, and her family will honor that request. Cremation services have been entrusted to H.M. Patterson & Son Funeral Home in Marietta, Georgia. In 1991, this funeral home generously donated a casket and their services to help make the burial of Kelly and Jeff’s beloved son, Seth, possible. The family is deeply grateful for the compassion and care shown to them then and now.
At this time, there will be no formal funeral service. A celebration of life will be planned at a later date, likely in the spring. Details will be shared with family and friends when available.
