Paul Connolly

Paul Connolly, 85, of Marietta died on February 5, 2022. He was born in Queens, New York to Thomas and Mary Connolly.At age 17 he joined the Air Force and over the next twenty years he was stationed in Japan, Spain, Guam and various bases in the US.

When he retired from the Air Force he chose Atlanta to live because he was a sports enthusiast.

He learned computer programming in the Air Force and in civilian life he became a systems analyst.

Paul met his love, Judi Goodfellow, in 1980 and they were married in 1985.

They both retired in 1998 and spent much of their time traveling on their own. Besides the US, they traveled to South America, Costa Rica, Canada and Mexico and much of Europe. They loved Spain and every year they would go to the little town of Nerja on the southern coast. In recent years they would spend both Spring and Fall in Nerja. Their last trip there was for three months, returning home on January 5, 2022.

Paul is survived by his wife, Judi Connolly, sons Allan and Kevin Connolly, step-daughters Amy Goodfellow Herington and Beth Goodfellow, son-in-law Duce Vines, grandchildren Joshua and Jonathan Connolly, Ashley and Tyler Herington, Douglas and Griffin Vines.

Paul will be missed by his family and his many friends.

A visitation for family and friends for Paul will be held Sunday, February 27, 2022 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at H.M. Patterson & Son-Canton Hill Chapel, 1157 Old Canton Road Ne, Marietta, GA 30068.
