Born in New Taipei City, Taiwan, to the late Jim-Bin Wang and Liou-Tzu Wang, Peter carried his heritage with pride throughout his life, lovingly sharing the customs and traditions of his homeland with family and friends.
Raised on a farm in rural Taipei, Peter overcame early challenges with the encouragement of his teachers, Mrs. Yu-Hsieh Lin, Mr. Young Chong Lee and Mr. Tsun-Lin Lee, and his older brother Jai-Ching. He pursued education with determination, advancing to middle and high school, and ultimately earning a Doctorate in Computer Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. His career included teaching at Alabama A&M University, working as a Software Scientist at Intergraph and leading virtual reality research at NASA. Peter also served as President and was an active member of Huntsville Chinese Association, Huntsville Taiwanese Association, FAPA and CAPASUS.
Peter lived intentionally with kindness, generosity, and love, touching the lives of all who knew him. He treasured time spent with his family and lifelong friends from elementary school.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Anita Wang, his steadfast companion and greatest support, with whom he built a life rich in love, learning, and community. He is also survived by his beloved daughters, Eva Poon (Sing Wing), Vivian Kelly (Frank), and Ellen Brown (Jordan), cherished grandchildren, Grace and Madeline Poon, Charlotte, Virginia, and Margaret Kelly, and Thomas, Caroline, and Emily Brown, and loving siblings, Jai-Ching Wang, Ho-Te Wang, Yueh-E Chung, Yueh-Hsia Lu, Yea-Ju Yang, Yealy Traynor and Yeamei Lee.
A man of many passions, Peter found joy in gardening, nurturing life and beauty with care and patience. He was a dedicated Tai Chi student who shared the practice to help others find balance and peace. Deeply proud of his Taiwanese culture, he delighted in sharing its language, traditions, and values. Peter also had a profound appreciation for music and took great pride in teaching mathematics. He guided others with clarity, patience, and a sincere desire to help them grow.
