

Mr. Richard Anthony Linton, age 54, of Mableton, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2024. He was born in London on April 13, 1970. Shortly after birth, the family moved to Kingston, Jamaica, where Richard was raised.
A bit British, Richard was an English citizen, and became a U.S. citizen in 2019, but fiercely and proudly Jamaican. He graduated from Mavisville Preparatory School and St. Georges College for Boys before moving to the United States to attend college. Richard earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Biochemistry from Barry University in Miami. He furthered his education by obtaining his Master of Science in Computer Science from Georgia State University in Atlanta. While in college Richard played soccer and was very good at it. On June 4, 2001, Richard married the love of his life, Nicole, in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
Richard held information technology leadership roles in global Fortune 500 companies The Home Depot and AT&T, and most recently Salesforce. He impacted his teams with not only his knowledge and skills, but his sincere efforts to connect with his coworkers and create a healthy, happy and productive work environment for everyone.
Richard loved sports, you could find him cheering on his favorite teams, the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta United, and Manchester United. He was true “Jedi,” he was one of the biggest Star Wars fans. Richard enjoyed gaming and music of every genre. He was an avid reader and absolutely loved reading comic books. Most of all, Richard loved his family. He loved traveling, ensuring he made lasting memories with his family.
Richard is preceded in death by his father Harold George Linton of Kingston, Jamaica.
He is survived by his wife, Nicole Vanessa Linton, son, Richard Anthony Linton Jr. and daughter Naomi Diane Linton; mother Gertilyn Elfreda Linton of Kingston, Jamaica; his sister Karen Jennings (husband Doug), and their son Kian Jennings; his brother Harel Linton Jr. (wife Nicole), their sons Alex (wife Olivia), and Ryan (wife Cassie) Linton, and daughter Shanice Cook (husband Robert); as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends. Richard was excited to be a great uncle in May 2025. His legacy will live on through the acts of love and kindness he always showed.
A celebration of life for Richard will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel, 2000 Cobb Parkway SE, Marietta, Georgia 30060.
