
He was born in Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, GA in 1942.He is survived by his wife, Wanda Louise Cox with 63 years of marriage, from Cartersville, GA; preceded in death by his mother, Eloise Steele and daughter Sherry Lynn Cox; survived by son Robert Gerald Cox, Jr., Granddaughters Hannah Taylor Cox, Amber- Lynn Cox, and Grandson Robert Joseph Cox all from Cartersville, GA. Great Grandchildren Ryder Cox and Rhett Cordle. Sister Peggy Ann Gillespie and husband William Gillespie. Gerald has numerous nieces and nephews located throughout GA and Utah.
We honor him in that, he was a busy, hard worker, who always cared for & provided for the family. Gerald started seven (7) businesses to include; Dura Clean, a carpet cleaning service; Pollution Equipment Company; Bogies Food and Spirits; Texas T-Bones, a restaurant on the Square of Marietta; Bob Cox Window Cleaning and Gutters; Chili Dog Factory; and Going Nuts, a gourmet popcorn company on the Square of Cartersville.
Gerald loved living life to the fullest to include boating and fishing on Lake Lanier and spending time with his wife, son, and grandchildren.
We will honor him, during Memorial Service, at 11:00 o’clock, Tuesday, January 13th, 206, in the Chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Park Home and Cemetery, 2000 Cobb Pkwy South, Marietta, Georgia 30060. Minister Bobby Padgett will officiate the service.
