Russell John Eckerman

Russell John Eckerman, affectionately known as Russ, RJ, Russell Muscle and Chuck, passed away on May 7, 2026, at the age of 52. A longtime resident of Marietta, Georgia, Russell brought warmth, laughter and steady strength to everyone who knew him.

Born in 1973 to Russell Douglas Eckerman and Bert Eckerman, Russell was a proud graduate of Kennesaw State University. He built a career with Marriott, where his friendly nature and dependable work ethic earned him the respect of coworkers and guest alike.

Russ loved simple, joyful things; watching movies, listening to music, shooting pool with friends, and spending time with his beloved dog, Cassie. Above all, he cherished family and close friends - always the one to offer support, a quick joke, or a reassuring smile when it was needed most.

Russell was preceded in death by his father, Russell Douglas Eckerman. He is survived by his mother, Bert Eckerman; his brother, Brian Eckerman; nephews, Nicholas, Caden and Alec Eckerman; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins who will carry his memory in their hearts.

A celebration of Russell's life will be held 11:00 am, on June 12, 2026, at Eastminster Presbyterian Church 3125 Sewell Mill Road, Marietta, Georgia with Rev. Leigh Sain officiating.

Those who knew him remember a devoted son, brother and loyal friend and a man whose kindness and humor touched many. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
