Ruth Marguerite Neilson, age 87, of Marietta, GA, passed away August 28, 2016. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 1 from 6pm until 8pm at H.M. Patterson & Son Canton Hill Chapel, Marietta. A graveside service will be at 1 pm on Friday, September 2 at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park, Marietta. Marguerite is preceded in death by her husbands: D.L. “Bud” Harris (in 1964) and James A. Neilson, Jr., (in 1997) to whom she was married for 26 years. She is survived by her loving children: Sharon (Tommy) Harris Burel and Dale (Debbie) Harris; 3 grandchildren Chad, Laurie, Jeffery and 8 great-grandchildren: Dylan, Cassidy, Cody, Luke, Jessie, Sophie, Chaz and Vivi. Marguerite was born and raised in Athens, GA before moving to Cobb County. She was a devoted secretary in the Engineering Department at Lockheed Martin for 30 years before retiring. She loved to garden, was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing and quilting. She will be greatly missed.
