Sally Marie Hebert

Sally Marie Pray Hebert was born on August 2, 1940 to Vern and Freda Pray. Her daddy was a butcher and her mom was a secretary at a real estate office. She was born and raised in Ponca City, Oklahoma with her older brother Vern Lee. She spent wonderful summers in Kansas with her Aunt Nett. She moved to Lake Charles in 1960 and married the father of her three children, Eugene Ammons. Her first son Terry was born, followed by her daughter, Pamela, and her youngest son Todd. She was a busy stay at home mom who could be found volunteering as room mom in her kids classroom. She went to work as a district secretary for Blue Cross Blue Shield in 1972. She attended McNeese College and worked toward a degree in music. She was a gifted pianist and vocalist. She moved back to Ponca City in 1982 to care for her elderly parents. While in Ponca City she attended nursing school and graduated at the age of 50. She had a long and fulfilling career in nursing and loved taking care of people. She moved to Atlanta in 1998. She had many friends that loved dearly and loved to entertain, play card games and majong. But most of all, she loved her family and was at her happiest when surrounded by them. In addition to her 3 children she leaves behind a son-in-law Scott and two dear daughters-in- law, Marti (Terry) and Christy (Todd). Her pride and joy were her 8 grandchildren, Emily Grace, Hannah Ruth, Abigail Rose, Andrew William, Madison Claire (Wes), Olivia Mae, John Henry and Caroline Hope. She perpetually bragged of them to anyone who would listen. She was a student of TRUTH and availed herself to many books and many classes at Unity Atlanta. She was one of the most positive people around and always had something nice to say about everyone. She truly found the good in all situations. On March 13, she passed peacefully in her sleep, surrounded by people who loved and cared for her. A Memorial Service is scheduled for 10 am on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Unity Church Atlanta, 3597 Parkway Lane, Norcross, Georgia 30092.
