Thomas H. McLendon

Thomas H. McLendon, Jr. passed away October 15, 2012 at his home in Marietta. Tom was the oldest son of Dorothy Hazel and Thomas Heflin McLendon both deceased. He was also preceded in death by his brother Walter Harris McLendon. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Robby A.McLendon; his daughter and son-in-law Nicole M. Davis and Chris R. Davis; grandchildren McKenna " Mac" Davis, Thomas McConnell Davis, Ian Christopher Davis and soon to arrive Hazel Skye Davis; sister and brother-in-law Margaret M. and Jimmy Nunn; sister-in-law Miok McLendon along with several nieces, nephews, extended family and "adopted" daughter Michelle McRee and her family, husband Gene and "granddaughters" Christine and Jessica.

Tom proudly served his country for 4 years in the Air Force before working for Delta Air Lines until his retirement in 1996. He then became actively involved as a volunteer at the Chattahoochee Nature Center where he enjoyed many hours of guiding walks and working with children and animals. He supported several charities including Doctors Without Borders and Smile Train. He and Robby loved to travel and their favorite country to visit, by far, was Ireland where they were able to go many times. He so loved the people there as well as the whiskey and the beer!

The family will receive friends at H. M. Patterson & Sons in Marietta from 1:00 until service time at 2:30 on Friday, October 19, 2012. Flowers will be accepted but donations to Smile Train would be preferred. www.smiletrain.org
