William Craig Shannon, a beloved son and brother, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 at Tranquility Hospice in Marietta, GA after a struggle with prostate cancer. He was born August 6, 1955. Craig was preceded in death by his father, William Grady Shannon and mother, Leogene Shannon Wirt. He is survived by his sister, Lynn Shannon Reaves and her husband Tommy; niece, Emily Greene Carlile and her husband Chris; great nephew, Collin Carlile; aunt, Udave Luna; aunt, Betty Shannon Daniels; several cousins and his step-father, Dares Wirt. Craig lived most of his life in Marietta, GA having graduated from Wheeler High School and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. He worked in a variety of careers until he owned and operated a window washing business. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at H.M. Patterson & Son, Canton Hill Chapel. A private graveside service will follow at Arlington Memorial Park in Sandy Springs.
