Carolyn Orr

Our loving wife, mother, and grandmother received the best Christmas present when the Lord called her home on Christmas Day. Carolyn Francis Craig Orr was daughter to Jesse O. and Maude Pack Craig, born on December 15, 1946 in Asheville, NC.

She was born again at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church on Wednesday night, July 21, 1955. She was the youngest of seven children; Jesse Jr. Craig, Alfred Craig, Bonnie Wright, Cecil Craig, Ernest Craig, Marvin Craig. She has been happily married to her husband James Orr for 46 years. She was preceded in death by her parents and five siblings.

She is survived by her brother Cecil Craig, son Dwayne Ray and his wife, Tammy; her son Darren Orr and his wife Shannon. She has five grandchildren, Jessica Melton, Tamara Ray, Dakota Ray, Dana Orr and Cari Orr. She also has two great-grandchildren, Zoe Abernethy and Jaileigh Bartlett.

She served our Lord as a singer in a quartet for over 35 years and as the church piano player for the majority of her life. She lived a full life and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.

One visitation will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Catawba Falls Baptist Church in Old Fort. A second visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017, from 10 -11 am, at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, 1657 Old Fort Rd., Fairview, NC 28730.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11 am on Friday, December 29, 2017 following the visitation, with Pastors Phillip Wishon and Ronnie Harris officiating. Burial will be in Chestnut Hill Church Cemetery. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
