David Monroe Harris

David Monroe Harris, age 57, of 4480 Painters Gap Road, Union Mills, NC passed away Friday, September 9, 2011 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center after a sudden illness. David was born on January 25, 1954. A native of Rutherford County, he was the son of Flora Whiteside Harris and the late Fred Harris. He is survived by his wife, Helen Fox Harris, of the home, his son, Steven Harris and his wife Kelly Hardin Harris, of Union Mills, NC, and his grandchildren, Corey Harris, Chase Harris, and Carlee Harris. He is also survived by his sister, Geraldine Harris Holloway, of Weaverville, NC, his brothers, Bob Harris, of Nebo, NC, and Jerry Harris, of Marion, NC. David was a member of Montford Cove Baptist Church, and enjoyed working in the woods, farming, and especially spending time with his grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Monday, September 12th, 2011 from 2:00 until 3:00 at Montford Cove Baptist Church, Union Mills, NC. Funeral services will be held immediately following the receiving of friends at 3:00 pm. The family will be at the home of Steven and Kelly Harris, 4474 Painters Gap Road, Union Mills, NC.
