Frank Glenn Vess

He was born March 24, 1929 in McDowell County, NC to the late Otis Theodore Vess and Flossie Odell Elliott Vess. Mr. Vess worked as a welder for C.E. Air Preheater. He was a hard worker and a Jack of all trades. He was honest, strong willed and had a lot of self-pride. He was also known for telling stories and being one of a kind.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Vess is also preceded in death by his daughter, Glenda Vess; one brother, Roy E. Vess; and one sister, Othella Vess.

Surviving Mr. Vess are one son, Tim Vess and wife, Sharon of Marion, NC; one daughter, Frankie Vess of Black Mountain, NC; one brother, Theodore Otis Vess and wife, Denise of Black Mountain, NC; four sisters, Hazel McPeters and husband, Mack of Black Mountain, NC, Shirley Murphy and husband, Clayton of Old Fort, NC, Wilma Jean Davis and husband, Lloyd of Old Fort, NC and Janice Creasman of Marion, NC; and two grandchildren, Clinton and Starla Beaver of Black Mountain, NC.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm until 7:00 PM on Thursday, February 6, 2014 at Kirksey Funeral Chapel in Old Fort, NC. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, February 7, 2014 at the funeral chapel. Burial will follow at the old Cherry Springs Cemetery.
