Georgia Belle Wyatt Price

Mrs. Price was born in Yancey Co., NC to the late Thurmond Roscoe Wyatt and Nellie Jane Chrisawn Wyatt.

Mrs. Price moved to Marion in 1941 where she worked at Robinson’s Clothing and later at R.L. James Hoisery. Georgia retired in 1995 and persued her desire for continuing education. She graduated from McDowell Technical College in 1998 at the age of 80.

Mrs. Price was a member of Cross Memorial Baptist Church in Marion for 75 years where she taught Sunday School for 50 years. She was a member of the choir, WMU, and numerous other organizations. She always had words of encouragement and faith to anyone she met.

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Hugh; three sisters, Gladys Buchanan, Madge Hensley, and Zora Wyatt, and a granddaughter, Penny Price Shell.

Surviving Mrs. Price are her son, Dennis Michael Price and his wife, Sue of Marion; two grandchildren Patrick Price of Marion and Pamela Price Sprinkle and husband Darryl of Easley, SC; seven great-grandchildren, Trey, Taylor, Tanner, Turner, Tyler, Tucker, and Tori; two great-great grandchildren, Harper and Asher; and one niece Joan Lanier.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 8, 2016 at 1:00 PM at Cross Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Anderson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Honeycutt-Price Cemetery on Georges Fork Rd. in Yancey Co.
