Hillard Duncan

He was born August 17, 1945 in McDowell County, NC to the late Milton Duncan and Bonnie Buchanan Duncan. Mr. Duncan worked for Marion Manufacturing for 27 years and was a member of Coxes Creek Free Will Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon. He loved his church and was a good Christian man. He also loved to fish and take his sons fishing.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Duncan is also preceded in death by his brother, Phillip Duncan.

Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Edwards Duncan of the home; three sons, C.B. Duncan and wife, Teresa of Marion, NC, Mark Duncan and wife, Donna of Old Fort, NC and John Duncan and girlfriend, Karen Hollifield of Marion, NC; five grandchildren, Dustin Duncan and wife, Katie, Kaylan Duncan, Taylor Duncan, Jeremy Gaddy and Zachary Gaddy; two brothers, Joe Duncan and wife, Ruby of Marion, NC and Bill Duncan and wife, Gail of Nebo, NC; four sisters, Carolyn Biddix and husband, Tim of Nebo, NC, Becky Biddix of Spruce Pine, NC, Lucille Duncan of Holden Beach, NC and Dorothy Rumfelt of Marion, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM on Monday, February 29, 2016 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion, NC. The family will then follow in procession to Coxes Creek Free Will Baptist Church where a Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM with Rev. Mark Lawing, Rev. Dean Owenby and Rev. Tim Biddix officiating. Burial will follow at Coxes Creek Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery.
