Kathleen Rowe Watson

She was born August 15, 1909 in McDowell County, NC. She is preceded in death by her mother, Alda Rowe Proctor; her husband, Hugh Lee Watson; and sons, Leo, Gene, and Michael Watson and two infant sons.

Kathleen was a member of Harmony Grove Baptist Church for 90 years. She served her church in many capacities including providing flowers for church services, helping with the building fund and singing in the choir.

Surviving are one son, Ray Watson and wife, Barbara of Nebo, NC; four daughters, Virginia Jarvis of Lenoir, NC, Louise Henline and husband, Charlie of Statesville, NC, Helen Clemmons and husband, James of Myrtle Beach, SC and Mary Cruise and husband, Paul of Nebo, NC; two daughters-in-law, Polly Watson of Nebo, NC and Delores Watson of Colorado; twenty grandchildren; twenty-six great-grandchildren; and three nieces. Kathleen was also blessed with many friends and neighbors.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Friday, October 7, 2011 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Harmony Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Gary Webb officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
