Kathryn Hicks Parker

She was born February 2, 1933 in McDowell County, NC to the late Arvin Howard Hicks, Sr. and Alma Loudermilk Hicks.

Mrs. Parker was a longtime member of the First Baptist Church of Hallendale, FL where she was also a choir member. She graduated from Nebo High School in 1951 and was a retired Florida Banker. Mrs. Parker will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother and friend.

Surviving are her daughter, Kathi Diane Shelton and husband, Jeff; one brother, Arvin Hicks, Jr. and wife, Patsy; one sister, Barbara Gravelle; one grandson, Allen Shelton and wife, Tonia; two great grandsons, Landon and Jasper; longtime friends, Jimmy and Martha Fortson and their son, Jack Fortson and also Betty Adams; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at Nebo Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will follow at the church with Rev. Doug Worley and Rev. Paul Hollifield officiating.
