Lee Whitson

He was preceded in death by his father, Rev. Clayton Whitson and mother, Dollie Peterson Whitson; a sister, Edna Byrd; a brother, Brown Whitson; and two grandchildren, Todd Matthew Branton and Shelby Lee Whitson.

Surviving Mr. Whitson are his wife, Dorotha Buchanan Whitson; three daughters, Judy Branton Wells of Marion, Sandy Hall and husband, John of Spruce Pine and Angy Kilgore and husband, Randy; one son, Ricky Whitson of Marion. Also surviving are one grandson, Brad Branton and wife, Angel of Marion; two granddaughters, Amanda Kilgore and Tiffany Hall; a great-grandson, Bradley Thomas Branton; a step-granddaughter, Heaven Caraway; and one step-grandson, Daniel Watkins. He is also survived by a sister, Thelma Street from Bakersville; a brother, Lloyd Whitson of Indian Trail, NC; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends at Kirksey Funeral Home and McCall Memorial Chapel in Marion on Saturday, April 9, 2011 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, April 10, 2011 at 3:00 PM at the chapel in the funeral home.
