Lessie Rutherford Johnson

She was born November 20, 1921 in Washington County, VA to the late Geter E. Barker and Minnie Elizabeth Chambers Barker. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by husband, Charles Franklin Rutherford and husband, Perry Johnson.

Surviving Mrs. Johnson are six daughters, Dora Elliott and husband, Don of Birmingham, AL, Lois Duncan of Belmont, NC, Phyllis Baker of Gaffney, SC, Barbara Carter of Columbus, NC, Frankie Leota and husband, Joe of Yorktown, VA and Debra McIntosh of Gaffney, SC; two brothers, Albert Chester Barker of Newport News, VA and Grover Clifton Barker of Bristol, VA; one sister, Maggie Barker Richardson of Bristol, TN; fifteen grandchildren; and twenty-three great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 5:30 PM until 7:30 PM on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 107 Cambridge Circle Gaffney, SC. A Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at McDowell Memorial Park with Rev. James “Bucky” Brown officiating.
