Margaret Irene Norris

Margaret Irene Norris, age 82, of Marion, NC, passed away, Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at Burke Hospice in Valdese, NC. She was born in Mecklenburg County to the late Harry Leonard Brown and Margaret Gilbert Brown. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Marion. She was a bridge player and she was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star; a past Worthy Matron and District Deputy Grand Matron.

Surviving are her husband, Finley Norris of the home; son, Finley Ronald Norris of Asheville; sister, Catherine Clapp; grandson, Taylor Norris.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, January 9, 2011 at First Presbyterian Church in Marion with Dr. Dan Thorton officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Entombment will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to: First Presbyterian Church in Marion or Hospice of McDowell County.
