Pauline Vera Brown, 72, formerly of Marion, went home to be with the Lord, on Friday, October 20, 2017, at Crofton Care and Rehabilitation Center in Crofton, Maryland.
Ms. Brown was born in Baltimore, MD ,on October 24, 1944, to the late Paul Edward Brown, Sr. and Lessie McNeill Phillips.
She was a member of Addie’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Marion, where she enjoyed singing in the choir, serving as an usher and on the food committee, and participating in the Seniors’s club. She loved going to the Senior Center and loved reading about history and going to historical places.
Ms. Brown served her country proudly in the US Navy after she graduated from Mountain View High School, and then she went to work in the textile industry. Her friends have described her as being dependable, kind hearted, strong willed, a good listener, a lover of laughter and prided herself with being independent. Pauline was true to who she was and lived her own story.
In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her step-mother, Alice Brown.
Surviving Ms. Brown are her daughters, Shannon Brown, of Upper Marlboro, MD and Andrea Brown, of Asheville, NC; a brother Paul Edward Brown, Jr., of Laurel, MD; and a sister, Jeanette Ishway, of Baltimore, MD.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2017, at 12:00 PM, at Addie’s Chapel United Methodist Church, in Marion, NC, with Rev. Walter Peguese officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at Old Fort City Cemetery in Old Fort.
