

Ray Francis McCurry, age 76, of Lewisville, TX, formerly of Marion, NC, passed away Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Select Specialty Hospital in Carrollton, TX. He was a loving, faithful, devoted husband and father.
He was born February 18, 1936 in McDowell County, NC to the late Lawrence Brownloe McCurry and Mary Alice Holland McCurry. Mr. McCurry was a Korean Conflict Veteran of the United States Army. He has been a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marion since 1997. He was also a member of The Marion Moose Lodge for over 36 years where, before his illness, he was an active member and held several different positions. Mr. McCurry was known as the “Rose Man” because he and his late wife grew many beautiful roses during their years together.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Nan Heslin McCurry and his sister and her husband, Doris and Frank Vallini.
Surviving Mr. McCurry are two daughters, Ann “Angie” Newhouse and husband, Richard of Lewisville, TX and Patricia “Patti” Brown of Flower Mound, TX; six grandchildren, Paul Bush and wife, Susan of Marion, IL, Jamie Desibaugh and husband, Jeremy of Hurst, TX, Timothy Brown of Charlotte, NC, Laurie Brown of Carrollton, TX, Rebecca Weaver and husband, David of Carrollton, TX and Danielle Brown of Flower Mound, TX; four great-grandsons, William Bush, Xander Bush, Tristan Fromholtz and Ethan Weaver; special neighbors, Raymond Alexander and Mildred Moody; and several extended cousins and other relatives.
The family would like to express a special “Thank You” to the First United Methodist Church and to The Marion Moose Lodge for all their love and support shown to Mr. McCurry and his family.
