Robert L. Dover

He was born July 12, 1932 in McDowell County, NC to the late William Clyde Dover and Mary Duncan Dover. In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Presnell Dover and two brothers, Hernel and Ronnie Dover.

Mr. Dover was a WWII veteran of the United States Army and was employed by Rexnord before retirement. He attended Grassy Creek Baptist Church in Spruce Pine, NC. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother.

Surviving are one son, Robert Dover, Jr. of Marion, NC; two daughters, Debra Edwards and husband, Daniel of Marion, NC and Paula D. Pittman of the home; one grandson, Robert Austin Dover; one brother, Billy W. Dover and wife, Ann of Marion, NC; two sisters, Carolyn Carwley and Betty Stacy both of Morganton, NC; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Dover of Marion; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services were held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, January 1, 2012 in McCall Memorial Chapel at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion with Rev. Matthew Mills officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
