Ruth Autrey Robinson

Mrs. Ruth Autrey Robinson, 86, of Marion, went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, October 1, 2014. Born January 5, 1928, in Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Roy Charles Autrey and Mary Murphy Autrey. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, James Newland Robinson, a brother, Clarence Autrey and a grandson, Travis Boyd. Mrs. Robinson was a faithful member of the Garden Creek Baptist Church for sixty years where she served in various ministries. She was employed by Etta Packaging for more than twenty years until her retirement.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory a son, Freddie Robinson and wife, Lisa, of Marion;

A daughter, Brenda Boyd and husband, Jerry “Sonny” Boyd, of Marion;

Two Grandchildren, Lindsey and Kelsey Robinson, two great grandchildren, Ginger Boyd and Teea Dorlan, and a great great granddaughter, Kymberli Thomas will also cherish her memory.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Robinson will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, October 3, 2014, at the Garden Creek Baptist Church, Marion, with the Reverend Coy Jeans officiating. Interment will follow at the McDowell Memorial Park, Marion. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mrs. Robinson’s memory to the Garden Creek Baptist Church General Fund.
