Violet Shirlen Morgan

Born November 23, 1924, in McDowell County, she was a daughter of the late Lawrence Shirlen and Lola Belle Kanipe Shirlen. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Morgan was also preceded in death by her husband, Jack Morgan, a brother, Andrew Shirlen and an infant sister, Reena Shirlen. Mrs. Morgan was a beautician and owner of Violet’s Beauty Shop.

Mrs. Morgan leaves behind to cherish her memory two brothers, Howard Lee Shirlen and wife, Faye, of Morganton and Cecil Shirlen and wife Margie, of Old Fort;

A host of nieces and nephews will also cherish her memory.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Morgan will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 2, 2014, in the McCall Memorial Chapel of Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion, with the Reverend Charles Shirlen officiating. Interment will follow at the Glenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.
