

He was born April 5, 1927 in Newport, TN to the late Jesse Cureton and Mattie Whitlock Cureton. Mr. Cureton retired from Marion Manufacturing after over 45 years of service and he attended State Street Church of God.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his late wife, Annie Cureton.
Surviving Mr. Cureton are his wife, June Atkins Cureton; one son, Benjamin T. Cureton and wife, Kay of Douglasville, GA; one daughter, Carol Knupp of Belmont, NC; nine step-children; three grandchildren, Eric Knupp and wife, Leslie, Tom Cureton and wife, Deidre and Tammy Williams and husband, Sean; three great-grandchildren, Danielle Cureton, Sarah Williams and Jolie Knupp; two brothers, Fred Cureton of Glendale, AZ and Lloyd Cureton of Asheville, NC; one sister, Imogene Miller of Newport, TN; and his beloved dog, Gizzy.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion. A Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Rev. Richard Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at McDowell Memorial Park.
