

Mr. Stevens was born on September 19, 1943 in McDowell County, to the late William Randolph Stevens Sr.; and Ruby Francis Melton Stevens.
Mr. Stevens proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant E-5 during the Vietnam War, was a retired Firefighter with Old Fort, and later became a supervisor for the textile industry for most of his life.
In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two brothers; Calvin Stevens, and Arnold Stevens, and one grandchild; Dylan Stevens Bryant.
Mr. Stevens is survived by his loving wife of 54 years; Julia Ann Silver Stevens of the home, two sons; William Stevens III and wife Bethany of Old Fort, Mark Stevens and wife Alice of Old Fort, one daughter; Renee Stevens Bryant and husband William of Ocala, Florida, four brothers; Sam Freeman of Old Fort, Dean Stevens and wife Sandy of Old Fort, Norman Stevens and Joyce of Marion, and Jimmy Stevens and wife Toni of Old Fort, four sisters; Shirley Laws of Old Fort, Verdie Propst and husband Bill of Old Fort, Cindy Johnson and husband Tommy of Old Fort, Rita Barnett of Marion, and six grandchildren; Serrina Stevens, PFC William Austin Stevens of the U.S. Marine Corp., Makayla Stevens, Eli Stevens, Lylia Stevens, and Judan Stevens and many very special nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, September 30, 2018 at 4:00pm at Living Waters Tabernacle Church; 344 Moffitt Hill Church Road, Old Fort, NC with Pastor William Randolph Stevens III officiating. The visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. The burial will follow at Moffitt Hill Cemetery.
