

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, June 1, 2012 at the First Baptist Church, 309 Coleman Street, Marlin, Texas, preceded by a 10:00 A.M. graveside service at Hillcrest Cemetery in Marlin with Rev. Blake Herridge officiating.
Betty Ruth Adams Robbins, 80, of Marlin, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, May 28, 2012 after a courageous five-year battle with cancer. Betty was born October 16, 1931, in Kosse, Texas to Jesse Jerome and Hattie Ford Allen Adams. She grew up in Kosse and enjoyed playing sports with her three brothers and her sister.
Betty married the late Billy Ray Robbins, Sr. on November 3, 1956. Betty and Billy were married 47 years and especially enjoyed sports and family vacations. Above all, Betty loved her two children and spending time with her five grandchildren.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, sister Lytle Adams, brothers, Howard Adams and Rufus Adams and granddaughter Emily Bell.
She is survived by her daughter, Bridget Robbins Bell and husband Lester of Coppell; son, Billy Ray Robbins, Jr. and wife Lee of Austin; four grandchildren, Elliot Bell, Elizabeth Bell, Blair Robbins and Blake Robbins. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family expresses sincere thanks to loving and devoted caregivers Rosinal Hughes, Machelle Hughes, and the staff of Helping Hands.
Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas or to the American Cancer Society.
