Donna Shelton

Stranger Community- Donna Ann “Pirtle” Shelton, age 79, passed away on Thursday, March 24, 2011 in Waco, Texas. Family visitation will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jimmy Phillips officiating and burial to follow in the Stranger Community Cemetery.

Donna was born Jan. 1, 1932 in Franklin, Texas to Raymond and Mary Pirtle. Donna attended schools in Blue Ridge and Bremond. She married James Marion Shelton on Dec. 23, 1948, who preceded her death in 2006. She was a longtime resident of Stranger Community and retired from B - K Auto parts as a sales clerk. Donna was a member of the Stranger Community Church and also on the board of directors of the Stranger Community Cemetery Association.

She was also preceded in death by son, Dennis Andrew Shelton; parents and five brothers and four sisters.

Donna leaves behind her sons, James Shelton and wife, Renee of Greenville, Richard Shelton and wife, Judy of Rosebud, Rodger Shelton and wife, Jean of Stranger and Thomas Shelton of Chilton; daughters, Debra Atomanczyk and husband, Bill of Mart and Jeanelle Greene and husband, Tom of McGregor; 16 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister-in-laws, Bobbie Lyon and husband, Walter of Bremond and Bernice Pirtle of Richards.
