

Radle, 89, of Marlin, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Grace Lutheran Church. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from
5:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, at Adams Funeral Home.
Mr. Radle was born on July 16,1924 in Otto, Texas to Ernest J. and Clara J. Tepe Radle. He served in the US Army under General MacArthur in the 43rd Infantry Division, Company L, 3rd Squad in Manila during WW II. He did his basic training in 1944 and was sent to the Philippines in 1945. Mr. Radle was a very active member of Grace Lutheran Church where he taught Sunday School and was an Elder. He was a former member of the Falls County ASCS Committee, a life member of the Falls County #52 DAV and was the emcee of the Jamboree at the Marlin Civic Center. Eddie was a pioneer man; his family emigrated from Germany to Otto to work as sharecroppers. He learned at an early age the meaning of hard work and continued that strong work ethic throughout his life. Eddie was a lifelong farmer and rancher and never met a stranger. Family was important to him and his home was the heart of the family where everyone loved to be, especially for the holidays.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruby Radle; son, Ronney Radle; and two brothers, Herbert and Doddie.
Survivors include his son, Gary Radle of Marlin; daughters, Peggy Winkelmann of Huntsville and Faye Kuretsch of Otto; daughterin-law, Cynthia Radle of Colorado; brother, Marvin A. Radle of McGregor; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and a special friend, Janice Jeter.
Pallbearers will be Jason Winkelmann, Adam Radle, Nathan Winkelmann, Bill Hegefeld, Joe George Tepe and Melvin Lloyd. Honorary Pallbearers are C.C. (Duck) Kasner, Edmund Hegefeld, A.W. Radle, Tony Fitz, Louis Hegefeld, Harding Kunkel, Joe Posabas and Charles Ray Evans.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Golden Years Nursing Home and BlueBonnet Hospice for their love and care of Eddie.
