Frances Lee Nutt

Frances Lee Nutt, 86, of Marlin, passed away Monday, June 5, 2017 in a local nursing home. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Friday, June 9, 2017 at Adams Funeral Home with Reverend Terry Johnston and Reverend Curt Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 8th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Nutt was born on March 23, 1931 in Marlin, Texas to George and Lora (Stone) Sowders. She married Harlan Earl Nutt on November 11, 1949 and they celebrated over 51 wonderful years together until his death on November 18, 2010. They owned and operated several Dry Cleaners in Marlin for over 50 years. Mrs. Nutt was a lifelong resident of Marlin and a charter and active member of Trinity Memorial Baptist Church. She loved playing cards, dominos, riding around, listing to her scanner and watching Wheel of Fortune and Family Feud but her true love was her family. Mrs. Nutt was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughters, Beverly Jean Nutt, Cathy Stevens and Lana Balzrette; sisters, Vera Feldman and Shirley Quilter; brothers, Hildred Sowders, Willard Sowders and James Sowders; 3 grandchildren and a great grandchild.

Survivors include her daughters, Linda Scaman of Marlin and Sandra Berry and her husband, Darin; sister, Lois Nutt of Marlin; 8 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
