Gloria Vera Vasey Geyer

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2 PM at the First United Methodist Church in

Marlin, Texas with Rev. Jeff Stull officiating. Burial will follow in the Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from

6-8 PM on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at the funeral home. Services are under the direction of Adams Funeral

Home.

Gloria was born on February 7, 1923 to Robert and Mary Amberger Vasey in Lester, Iowa. She attended Iowa

State University. Gloria taught first grade prior to marriage. Gloria married Robert E. Geyer on August 12, 1951 in

Chandler, Arizona. He preceded her in death in 1993. Gloria was a longtime resident of Marlin and a member of

the First United Methodist Church where she was an organist for a number of years. Gloria worked as a clerk at

the former Torbet Hutchings-Smith Hospital for 20 years and also part time at Falls Community Hospital. She also

worked as a secretary at the First Presbyterian Church for a number of years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marian Cunningham.

She leaves behind to cherish her memories are her daughters, Diane Logsdon and husband, Kevin of

Joshua Tree, CA., Jeanine Haberman and husband, Terry of Waco and Melody Gober and husband, Tommy

of Moody; seven grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial may be give to the First United Methodist Church in Marlin.
