Jerry L. Garrett

Jerry was born in Marlin, Texas on November 20, 1944 to Glenn W. Garrett and Elnora Ray Garrett.

Jerry graduated from Marlin High School in 1963. He worked at Marlin Mills and Rush Gardner and Bartlett for sometime, but his true calling was to be a Cowboy, and raising his own cattle. He loved to sing and his infectious smile followed him.

In 1968 he married Janis McElroy in Marlin. Janis passed away in 1999. They had two children, Leonard Garrett (Bo) and Misti Garrett Hildabrand.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter Misti, brother Garland Garrett, sister Janniece Garrett Thomas along with sister-in-law Sue Garrett and brother-in-law Gary Scott.

He is survived by son, Bo Garrett, sister, Linda Garrett Scott, brother-in-law John Thomas, many nieces and nephews and cousins. A special thanks to cousin Libba for keeping the nurses up to date on his needs.

A memorial graveside service for Jerry will be held Sunday, February 27, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Stranger Cemetery, Stranger, Texas with the Reverend William Wright officiating.
