

Jesse Glenn “Texas” King, 51, of Violet, Louisiana died and went to meet his Savior on December 23, 2014. He was born December 22, 1963 in Daton, Ohio. Glenn grew up in Alabama, the son of Douglas and Mary Ellen (King) Porter graduating from Daleville High School and attending George C. Wallace Technical Institute.
Glenn was a certified welder and traveled the United States building tanks. He took pride in his work and craftsmanship. Glenn enjoyed his life and lived it to the fullest. He enjoyed the outdoors and took pleasure in hunting and fishing. He rode bulls and broncs when he was younger and participated in rattlesnake rodeos. If it was an adventure, Glenn was always a willing participant.
Glenn married Shelley Brubaker in 1990 and had two wonderful children, Jerry Jack and Caitlin King.
He was a member of Delacroix Hope Baptist Church in Violet, Louisiana.
Glenn is survived by his parents Doug and Mary Ellen Porter, Children, Jerry Jack, Caitlin, Misty and Cody, grandchildren Gregory and Emalee, special friend Charlene Umbehagen, Siblings Paula Graf and husband John, Becky Copeland and husband Roger, DL Porter III and wife Heaven, Tammy Spruce and husband Bob, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A viewing will be held 5 to 7 pm, Friday, January 2nd at Adams Funeral Home in Marlin, Texas. Funeral service will be held at 2:00pm, Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Adams Funeral Home with interment at Hillcrest Cemetery following the service. Pallbearers will be Jerry King, Cody Die Fenback, Larry Smith, Willie Corley, Jimmie Walker, Jack Payne, and John Graf.
