Joe Sustaita Jr.

Joe Sustaita Jr. of marlin died on Friday, April 19, at the age of 60. Mass of Christian Burial was held on April 23 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Churhc with Father Kelley as celebrant. Interment followed in Calvary Cemetery under the direction of Adams Funeral Home. Rosary was recited on April 22 at Adams Funeral Home.

Joe was born on Sept. 28, 1952 in Hughes, Ark., the son of the late Joe and Stella Hernandez (Sanchuz) Sustaita. He married Virginia Martinez and was a dedicated employee of U.S. Silica in Kosse.

Joe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marlin. He enjoyed 5K runs, playing baseball, watching wrestling and mowing the grass with his grandchildren. He was a people person who enjoyed talking to people and watching old cowboy movies.

Also preceding him in death were a brother and three sisters.

Survivors include his wife, Virginia; sons Chris Sustaita and David Sustaita, both of Marlin; daughter Robin Sustaita or Marlin; grandchildren Shauna Musia, Parker Sustaita, Jasmien Moreno, Gavin Musia, Aaron Sustaita and Jaidon Brooks.

Joe’s sudden death was a shock to everyone. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
