Lucile Meador

Lucile Meador, 93, of Rowlett, formerly of Riesel, passed away Sunday, June 2, 2013 in a Rowlett hospital. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM, Friday, June 7, 2013 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Mike Morrow officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Cemetery, Marlin, Texas. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, June 6th at the funeral home.

Mrs. Meador was born on June 14, 1919 in Falls County, Texas to Joe and Eula Alston Johnson. She married Eddie Meador on September 16, 1936 in Kosse, TX and they celebrated over 68 wonderful years together until his death on December 20, 2004. Mrs. Meador worked for Model Laundry in Marlin and Graham Embroidery in Waco for several years. She was a member First Baptist Church of Riesel where she was active in the Lydian Sunday School Class for over 55 years. Mrs. Meador was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Jimmie Pike and her husband, Ray; brother, Bill Johnson; and sisters, Iris Easley, Mildred Ferguson and Elaska Williams.

Survivors include her daughter, Sallie Dieterich and her husband, Gene of Rowlett; grandsons, Ronny Pike and his wife, Lisa of Baton Rouge; Larry Pike of Bryan; David Pike and his wife, Jackie of Lorena; Jeff Dieterich and his wife, Marsha of Rowlett; Greg Dieterich of Frisco; and great grandchildren, Lexi Pike, Caroline Pike, Bryson Pike, Riley Pike, Colton Pike and Jamie Dieterich.

Arrangements were entrusted to Adams Funeral Home, Marlin, Texas.
