Marilyn Gage Glover—known lovingly as “Meme” to her grandchildren—was born on October 5, 1931, near a cotton gin owned by her family in Wellington, Texas, to William Sparks Gage and Iva Tyson Gage. She entered her eternal home on December 8, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and quiet strength that touched generations.
A Celebration of Lfe will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 17, 2026 at the First Baptist Church in Marlin, Texas.
Marilyn married the love of her life, William Keith Glover—“Papa”—on June 19, 1949. Their marriage was a true partnership, rooted in devotion, hard work, laughter, and deep affection. They married young, shortly after high school, and spent nearly seven decades loving one another well. Keith preceded Marilyn in death on July 4, 2017, and she missed him every day that followed.
Marilyn was also preceded in death by her precious infant twin daughters, Jeanne and Joanne; her parents; and her brothers, Hugh Gage and Jackie Gage.
She is survived by her siblings Billy Gage and wife Carol, Barbara Garnett and husband Lathan, and Weldon Gage and wife Junnie; her sons Randy Glover and wife Becki, and Monty Glover and wife Terri; her grandchildren Jana Grundy and husband Brant, John Glover and wife Cheyanne, and Casey Glover; and her beloved great-grandchildren Luke, Alex, Carson, Cameron, and Cooper, who brought her immense joy. She is also survived by a large and loving circle of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Marilyn attended high school in Whitharral, Texas, just a few miles from Littlefield, where Keith lived. They began their married life in Littlefield, where Keith worked as parts manager at Hall Motor Company. In 1965, with courage and faith, they sold their home and invested everything they had in a Ford dealership in Sudan, Texas. Keith’s name may have been on the sign—Keith Glover Ford—but everyone who knew them understood the truth: this was a true partnership that involved both Keith and Marilyn. Without her wisdom, work ethic, steady encouragement, and support, the dealership would have never been and certainly would not have endured.
The family lived in Sudan until 1972, when Marilyn and Keith moved to Marlin, Texas, seeking a larger town and dealership and the comfort of being closer to extended family. They built a rich and happy life there, filled with friendships, church, and family gatherings, until 2017, when they moved to Waco. Even after Keith’s passing, Marilyn continued to build friendships wherever she lived. She was never alone for long—she had a gift for connection and a heart that welcomed others. And she loved Baylor basketball, even traveling on occasion with the team and attending many games with her son Monty.
Marilyn cared deeply for people. She was generous with her time, her resources, and her love, and she gave all three freely. She adored her family—both near and far—and had a special, radiant love for children that made her glow from the inside out.
Above all else, Marilyn loved the Lord. Her faith guided her life, shaped her kindness, and fueled her desire for others to know Jesus. It was the quiet center of who she was and how she lived.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church, 309 Coleman Street, Marlin, Texas 76661, or the Boys and Girls Club of Falls County, 5136 N. Highway 7, Marlin, Texas 76661.
Marilyn’s life was one of steadfast love, humble service, and enduring faith. She will be deeply missed—and forever cherished—by all who were blessed to know her.
