

Marshall A. Hayes, III, 78 of Chilton entered into rest Thursday, August 30, 2012. Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 3, 2012 at Adams Funeral Home Chapel with John Sirman and Ned Walton officiating. Burial will follow in Clover Hill Cemetery in Lott. Visitation will be 6PM to 8PM Sunday at Adams Funeral Home.
Marshall, affectionally known as “Chick” to his family and friends was born January 30, 1934 in Lott, TX to Marshall A. and Lucille Dunagan Hayes, Jr.. Marshall was a graduate of Lott High School and Texas Tech University with a degree in Geology which influenced his lifelong passion of arrow head hunting and his collection of numerous Indian Artifacts. Marshall enjoyed participating in the plays at the Palace Theater and loved to lead the singing at the Country Worship Cowboy Church. He also enjoyed studying and researching genealogy. Marshall will be sorely missed by all who knew and loved him.
Marshall was preceded in death by his parents and wives, Sydney Henderson Hayes and Joy Beth Hayes.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Anne Hayes of Chilton; son, David Hayes and wife Donna of Longview, TX; daughter, Meredith Buchanan and husband Kevin of Memphis, TN; sisters, Sharon Scanlan and Janice Norris; brothers, James Hayes, Lowell Hayes and Timothy Hayes; grandchildren, Amanda Hayes McCary, Savannah Hayes, Kate Buchanan and Emily Buchanan; Two Great-Grandchildren, numerous stepchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
