William Riley Cobb

On Oct 17th, 2022, William Riley Cobb passed away peacefully at his home in Marlin, Texas. A graveside service will be held on Dec. 10th, 2022 at 11am, followed by a celebration of his life at Blue Ridge Baptist Church.

Son of Clifford and Mable (Haley) Cobb, William was born Feb 19th, 1939. One of eight siblings, Clifford Jr., Franklin, Annie (Fay), Thomas, Evalina, Ernest—all predeceased—except for his brother, Johnny Cobb. His family farmed and ranched the homestead in Blue Ridge. After his service in the U.S. Army, William married and had two children. For much of his working career, William was employed by Brown and Root in Pasadena Texas where he was an expert welder on offshore oil platforms. He was a proud Texan and an avid fisherman and hunter, who loved to trek the waters and woods of his state.

William is survived by his ex-wife, Linda Simpson; children: John Cobb and wife, Heidi, daughter, Stella Flewelling and husband, Rob; grandchildren: Jimmy and Cassandra Soucy and Johnny Cobb; numerous cousins and friends; nephews and nieces: especially Jerry and Sarah Sadler, who watched over him during his later years, along with his dear friends, Kaye and Harold.
