Adlist Marie Breaux, of Marrero La , passed away on Thursday, the 10th of Sept at the age of 89. She was married to Louis Breaux Sr for over 70 years. He passed away in 2011. Louis and Adlist had 2 sons, Louis Jr and Michael. They also had 4 grandchildren...Corey, Jesse, Melissa and Jacob. After Louis Sr passed, Louis Jr and his wife Dawn took Adlist to live with them in Charlotte, North Carolina. She lived with them until the Alzheimers became uncontrollable, and she was moved into Legacy Heights, a Memory Care Facility, where she resided for 3 years until her passing. A special thanks to the staff at Legacy for their compassion and for providing such excellent care during her stay. Adlist worked at Continental Can Company in Marrero for over 25 years. She remained close to many of her coworkers, many of whom became bowling buddies. Adlist loved bowling. She and her "Champagne Ladies" travelled every year to the National Bowling Tournament, and over the years they visited 48 states. She loved to travel, and was always ready to go whenever anyone mentioned "road trip". She was a very compassionate person, always helping and caring for others. After her father passed, she took her mom in and cared for her until she passed. She and her husband also cared for her friend Dorothy, who lived with them until cancer finally took her life. Her warmth and compassion, as well as her keen sense of humor and wit, will be missed dearly. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside/Leitz Eagan Funeral Home, 5105 Westbank Expressway on Saturday, Sept 19th at 10:00 am. Visitation will begin at 9 am. Internment will be in Westlawn Mausoleum. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com
