Anita “Nita” Marie Torres passed away on Saturday, August 9, 2014 surrounded by her loving family. Devoted wife of the late Raymond Joseph Torres of 38 years. Loving mother of Lennet Joseph Daigle, Charlene Torres Foret (Leroy), Cynthia Torres Jimcoily, and step-daughter, Rita Darnell Ainey and preceded in death by Darryl Daigle and Natalie Torres. A proud grandmother of Tiffanie, Blake, Brittany, Dustin, Steven and 5 great grand children. Daughter of the late Marie Arcenaux Blanchard and George Blanchard, Sr. Sister of Shirley Gonzales (the late Alvin, Sr.), Barbara Matherne, George Blanchard, Jr. (Mary Ann), Raymond “Potchie” Blanchard (Rose) and the late Irene King. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Age 68, a lifelong resident of Waggaman, LA. “Nita” enjoyed cooking for family and friends, flowers, gardening, she added faith and hope in every one lives and loved her God. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Prayer Service on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 7:30 pm. Visitation beginning at 5:00 pm. The interment of “Nita” will be private.
