

She was born in El Dorado, Arkansas on December 7, 1934. She was a beloved wife and devoted mother of 12 children. She lived in Louisiana, Texas, Washington, Oregon and California. She raised her family in Shreveport, Louisiana before moving to Lafitte, Louisiana.
She was an active member of St Pius X Catholic Church for most of her life. She recently joined Touro Synagogue and was an active congregant for her last several years.
Betty along with her husband ran Pay and Save Grocery, a neighborhood grocery store, in Shreveport until her retirement. There she made many friends and was an excellent listener.
Betty was known for her laughter, quick wit, kindness and love for her family and friends.
Betty enjoyed going to the Council of Aging with her friend, Opal Matherne in Lafitte, gardening, reading, working crossword puzzles, traveling, and learning new things, wining and dining with friends, old and new. She was a true bon vivant!
She was preceded in death by her parents Othel Eugene and Mazie Ola Randolph, her husband, Melvin H Procell, her daughter, Debra Ann, her sons, Othel Eugene, Jr and Stephen Allen Procell.
She is survived by her children, Dr Melvin Harold Procell,(Kathy), Dr William Randolph Procell, Marilyn Ann Southern, (Ray), Belinda Carole Young, (Melvin), Virginia Sue Hebert,(Terry), Paul
Forrest Procell, (Lisa), John David Procell, (Cathy), Cheryl Jane Powell,(Chris),
Elizabeth Ann Ordway,(Eric), and her sister, Melba Carole Hagel.
She is survived by her grandchildren: Chelle Procell Woods,(Darin), Matthew Procell,(Michelle), Christopher Procell, (Hailey), Joshua Southern,(Felicia), Christina Southern Williford,(Patrick), Philip Young,(Sheena), Michelle Young,(Michael), Michael Procell, Courtney Procell Moshrefi, (Justin), Mason Adams, Emily Procell, John David Procell, Jr, Chloe Powell, William Powell, Katherine Powell and Sophia Ordway.
She is also survived by 8 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
