Carol Elizabeth Payne Burlet, 57 years old, of Belle Chasse, LA, passed away peacefully on January 3, 2021 after a 5 year war with a stubborn autoimmune disease. Even though her soul was willing, the flesh was weak, and she decided she would have a much better time dancing with her dad at the party in heaven.
Carol was born in Kansas City, Missouri on April 19, 1963. She made lifelong friends at Atonement Lutheran High School in Metairie, LA that she cherished throughout her journey. She worshipped with Atonement throughout her life.
Carol married Richard Burlet on August 29, 1987. They remained married until her passing, and Ric adored, loved, cherished, and cared for Carol every day she was with him.
Carol proudly worked in the cosmetics industry throughout her life in both sales and distribution, and she greatly enjoyed helping others look and feel their best. She enjoyed spending time with her friends and family, especially her sister Melody Payne Flannery, shopping, having lunch, and taking girl trips. Carol was sweet, kind and fun-loving, and she was feisty and would go to bat for her family and friends.
Carol is survived by her husband Ric, her sister Melody and brother-in-law Robert Flannery, her brother Christopher Payne and his wife Wendy, and her nieces and nephews whom she called her own, Mandy Flannery O'Leary, Brent Flannery, Season Flannery, and Alex Payne, as well as great-nephew Flannery Reilly O'Leary. She is also survived by brothers Gene Payne, Gary Dennis Payne, Mikel Payne, and Terry Payne and their spouses and children. Carol also had family members in the Franke and Knoth families that she kept in touch with across the globe, as well as friends that she kept in touch with over Facebook.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents, Floyd Payne and Alice Elizabeth Franke Payne of Missouri.
May we all find comfort knowing there is another angel watching over us. A memorial service will be scheduled in the future when the Covid pandemic has settled down because Carol would want a fun, celebratory party with all her loved ones.
